Announcing the Top Rated CPQ Software for 2019

TrustRadius Top Rated

Today, we awarded the 2019 TrustRadius Top Rated badges for CPQ Software. The TrustRadius Top Rated awards are the most trusted in the industry because they are an unbiased reflection of customer sentiment, based solely on user feedback and satisfaction scores. Top Rated awards are the voice of the market and are not influenced by analyst opinion, the vendor’s company size, popularity, or status as a TrustRadius customer.

Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) Software

Configure, price, quote (CPQ) software is a sales acceleration tool designed to generate quotes for various product configurations based on specified rules. CPQ software is often used by Sales teams to deliver accurate quotes to customers quickly and maintain pricing consistency across sales reps and teams. Most CPQ software is based around a rules engine that accounts for supply, pricing structures, and customer information, tailoring quotes for individual situations. Along with the rules engine, CPQ solutions often include product configuration systems, which automate the process of building product bundles and applying discounts and exceptions. Other common features include CRM integration, manual pricing adjustment, credit checking, e-signature capability, and customer self-service systems.

Buyers considering CPQ software should consider the level of product complexity they need to manage. Some platforms that are designed to handle large, complex product systems may require significant investment in setup and upkeep. Businesses with simpler product offerings may not need the full toolset of these systems and can often meet their needs with a more lightweight CPQ solution.

Here are the winners:

ConnectWise Sell

ConnectWise Sell is a cloud-based CPQ solution focused on serving IT businesses. It includes features like quote generation and delivery, credit approval, automatable pricing for product configurations, support for recurring revenue systems, and an online CMS for quoting and proposal materials. ConnectWise Sell delivers quotes through an online portal, allowing customers to view quotes in a controlled environment without needing to log in. For administrators and managers, it also includes peer review systems, user-based access control, and support for multi-site organizations. ConnectWise Sell integrates with CRM solutions like SalesForce and ConnectWise Manage and with technology distributors like HP and Dell. A large majority (81%) of ConnectWise Sell users on TrustRadius are from small businesses. Reviewers value ConnectWise Sell’s real-time access to distributor product pricing and availability, professional quote templates, and customer activity tracking on quotes and proposals.

“The most powerful features are the fact that you can see when your clients have viewed your quote, and that it can pull in real-time information about the products you are selling…[You] can use it from anywhere, which is a big advantage over other quoting tools that I have used.”

Salesforce CPQ is a CPQ solution included with the Sales Cloud product suite. Its features include quote and proposal generation, contract creation and delivery, e-signature capability, automatable pricing, product configuration, support for recurring billing, and payment collection. A guided selling system helps representatives select relevant products for customers and identify cross-selling opportunities. Salesforce CPQ’s reporting tools help businesses recognize revenue, identify profitable customers, and evaluate their pricing models. Most of the Salesforce CPQ users on TrustRadius (65%) are from midsize companies. Reviewers appreciate Salesforce CPQ’s tight integration with the Salesforce platform, automatable approval workflows, and robust guided selling system for onboarding new representatives.

“My productivity has increased and the accuracy of the quotes and contracts generated are consistent and branded properly. Selling bundled products and renewals are now so much easier. The integration with other systems has been smooth as well…If you’ve got deep roots in [Salesforce] already, I would recommend it.”
