What is Sales Enablement Software?

Although quantity of sales conversations is an important factor in successful sales, it’s also important that each conversation is high-quality. An uncoordinated, untrained sales team may duplicate work, miss opportunities to close a sale, or make process errors. Even if the team has a large number of sales conversations, if the leads are low quality the team may make fewer sales.

Sales enablement software aims to solve these problems by helping sales teams follow best practices and optimize performance. Tools in this category may contain a broad range of features, including sales content management, sales performance management, CRM, sales intelligence, and sales email tracking. These tools may also share features with sales acceleration software, and some businesses and vendors may use the terms interchangeably. However, sales acceleration focuses on automation and increased quantity of sales conversations, whereas sales enablement tools aim to improve the overall quality of each conversation.

Buyers considering sales enablement software should fully evaluate their sales needs. If their sales teams have plenty of leads but are struggling to close leads, a sales enablement system could help improve the quality of their sales conversations. If the team instead suffers from a long sales cycle or a lack of leads, a sales acceleration solution may have a more significant impact.

Products included in the 2019 Top Rated Sales Enablement Software list must have been in the top tier of their category TrustMap as of September 12th, 2019. To qualify for the Sales Enablement Software Top Rated Award, products must have at least 10 reviews written within the past year, a TRScore of at least 7.5 out of 10, and must receive at least 1.5% of the traffic in their category.  Every reviewer is verified and every review is vetted before publication.
