What are Sales Engagement Platforms (SEPs)?

SEPs are an evolution of email tracking tools combined with sales acceleration and sales enablement capabilities. Their goal is to bring sales and marketing together to give salespeople the tools and information they need for high-quality, targeted outreach campaigns. These tools aim to help sales representatives improve the quality of their customer interactions, increase sales velocity, and convert leads into customers.

Products in this category may encompass a broad range of features and functions. However, they generally offer a unified interface for omni-channel customer interactions. Although they may cover multiple channels, email tracking is still a core component of SEPs. They also often integrate with CRM software and provide engagement analytics tools. Campaign scheduling tools help salespeople automate the delivery of personalized content at various points in the sales pipeline, helping keep leads engaged.

Implementing an SEP is a significant task, and planning and foresight can help sales teams ensure they’re fully utilizing the software.
