The ecommerce industry, the amount of transactions that happen online, is growing. In 2018, U.S. consumers spent over $5 billion in online purchases—a 15% increase from 2017. Social media is also playing an increasingly important part of businesses’ online selling strategy. Platforms like Instagram and Facebook are fertile ground for advertising, retargeting online shoppers, and generating sales. 62% said that at least 1 in 10 customers come from social media channels.
