One-Year Anniversary Review Invitation (automated and not automated options)

One-Year Anniversary Review Invitation (automated and not automated options)

It’s important to always have a pulse on how your customers feel about using your product—and reviews are a great way to do that. One way that you can drive reviews is after a customer has spent about one year with your software.

Good news is there is a lot of versatility—you can do this in an automated campaign or in a one-off email. Automated campaigns allow you to do all of the work upfront and then let it continue to drive reviews for you throughout the year. A customer can be dropped into the campaign by their anniversary date. If you’re worried about renewals at the same time, I’d recommend bumping them up a month or down a month. Sending the email a month later is the easiest option because you can delay the message and still use the initial anniversary date.

Another option here is if you use a customer success platform to manage your customers, such as Gainsight CS or ChurnZero. These types of platforms allow you to automate messages coming from your CSM on the date you need. This adds that level of personalization that takes it a step further.

So with that being said, below you’ll find a few copy options for this type of email review invitation. You’ll find a one-off ask, an automated ask, and one CSM ask. You’ll find that these emails are somewhat similar, but there are a few minor changes based on the delivery of the invitation. Feel free to copy and paste these to use them as you see fit, and always remember to add in your brand voice.

NOTES:

  1. As a reminder, funneling your customers into this campaign via their anniversary date will be the easiest way to bring them in.
  2. If you can use a merge field in the disclaimer section, you can have the current month pop up instead of “your anniversary month.” Since this is an ongoing campaign, there’s not much of a way to keep track of this, it really only creates a sense of urgency for the customer.
  3. Talk with your TrustRadius CSM before launching this campaign to make sure you have your review section ready to go with any custom questions you may want added. These tend to be lower in quantity, so forward those emails to your TrustRadius CSM when someone updates their review and we’ll fulfill the gift card for you. These reviews bump to the top of your page and count toward the Top Rated award. They also provide valuable insights into a longer-term customer’s experience with your product.
