Announcing the Top Rated Web Analytics Tools for 2019

TrustRadius Top Rated

Today, we awarded the 2019 TrustRadius Top Rated badges for Web Analytics Tools. The TrustRadius Top Rated awards are the most trusted in the industry because they are an unbiased reflection of customer sentiment, based solely on user feedback and satisfaction scores. Top Rated awards are the voice of the market and are not influenced by analyst opinion, the vendor’s company size, popularity, or status as a TrustRadius customer.

Web Analytics Tools

Web analytics tools enable businesses to track user activity and engagement on their website, and in some cases on social platforms and mobile applications as well. These tools track metrics such as number of active users, number of pageviews over a specified time period, conversion rates, number of onsite link clicks, how far users travel down the page, and average time on page. Some tools may specialize in one area of web analytics such as heatmaps and scroll maps, visitor recordings, A/B and split URL testing , and audience segmentation and personalization. There are also larger web analytics platforms that provide marketing, SEO, product, and sales teams with an overall view of user activity and engagement metrics. All of these tools aim to help businesses assess how their website, social profiles, or mobile apps are being used by site visitors and make informed content and site design decisions.

Here are the winners:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free web analytics platform that provides businesses with an aggregate view of site user activity and engagement. It measures website traffic using a wide range of metrics: number of pageviews, average time on page, user retention rate, third party and keyword referrals, page bounce rate, user sourcing, and more. Google Analytics also includes features such as customizable reporting, site audience segmentation using demographic and behavior filters, and ability to track eCommerce performance metrics such as number of transactions and time to purchase. The majority of Google Analytics users on TrustRadius are from small (35%) or mid-sized (31%) businesses. According to reviewers on TrustRadius, Google Analytics provides a great overview of site user activity with insight into real-time activity and metrics such as time on page, user demographics, and user sourcing.

“The Analytics platform allows us to get a real-time view of our audiences and make adjustments in our growth and execution of marketing strategy. Additionally, we’re able to better grasp where customers are referred to our site, which parts of the sales funnel are most successful, and where we need to improve. We set KPI’s through our dashboard and are able to see current updates on when we meet our goals.”

Mixpanel is a web analytics platform that enables marketing and product teams to better understand how their users are interacting with their products and website. Mixpanel gives teams access to user engagement metrics such as user retention rates, conversion rates, and event engagement tracking. It also includes features such as user demographics, a mobile A/B testing tool, funnel creation and tracking, and ability to view where users drop off their site. Over half (54%) of Mixpanel users on TrustRadius are from small businesses. Reviewers highlight that event tracking, funnel tracking, and providing detailed user information are three of Mixpanel’s strengths.

“Mixpanel is great for organizations that want to track how their application is being used. Tracking attributes related to geo-location, user-segmentations – like departments and titles, browser and operating systems, etc. can be very easy. Various groups in an organization have the ability to access the data collected and build reports that fit their specific needs. The UI is very intuitive and quick to pick up.”

Nested within the Adobe Experience Cloud, Adobe Analytics brings web analytics, marketing analytics, and predictive analytics together in one product. It enables marketing teams to capture user data across channels and measure site user engagement metrics such as website traffic, track user site paths, and used advanced audience segmentation tools to conduct user cohort analysis. It includes features such as customized reporting and analysis, audience segmentation management, AI-supported marketing attribution analysis, and predictive modeling and alerts. A large portion (40%) of Adobe Analytics users on TrustRadius are from enterprise companies. Reviewers emphasize that the ability to quickly generate detailed reports even when dealing with a very large dataset and the ability to track customers across digital channels are two things Adobe Analytics does especially well.

“We use Adobe Analytics as the holy grail for our web statistics. It is used throughout the company and each of our publications. As the media industry transitions to digital platforms, it is imperative for us to get the most out our web analytics. Everything from our paywall to our print media decisions is based on information we derive from Adobe Analytics.”
