ez-texting-vs-simpletexting

May 1st, 2020 3 min read

EZ Texting and Simple Texting are both mobile marketing Software options that allow users to create marketing campaigns using SMS messaging and push notifications. SimpleTexting is most popular with small businesses. EZ Texting is also used most often by small businesses, though some mid-sized businesses and larger enterprises also use it.

Features

EZ Texting and Simple Texting both include essential mobile marketing features such as scheduled texts and auto-responses, but they also have a few standout features that set them apart from each other.

EZ Texting includes a text-to-landline feature that allows SMS marketing campaigns to reach landline phones. This can be important depending on the demographic of a campaign, as access to landlines opens up certain groups to marketing they may not receive otherwise. EZ Texting also includes native integrations with popular marketing software like MailChimp and Constant Contact. Users of those services will be able to easily pass data from one software to another.

SimpleTexting includes an API that allows skilled developers to create custom integrations with SimpleTexting and existing systems. For businesses with many technical resources to devote to mobile marketing, the API makes SimpleTexting a very flexible option. Additionally, SimpleTexting allows users to send texts with extended character counts for longer, more detailed messages.

Limitations

Though EZ Texting and SimpleTexting both include essential mobile marketing features, they also have a few limitations that are important to consider.

EZ Texting provides a simple to use interface, but documentation is lacking. If users have issues using the technology, they may have to reach out to support rather than figuring out a solution on their own. Additionally, some users find the interface for form creation to be clunky and lacking in customizability.

SimpleTexting lacks a user-friendly mobile app. While many users praise the user interface of the desktop version of the tool, the mobile app is more challenging to use. Additionally, there is no draft feature for campaigns that users began work on but decided not to send. This can result in wasted time as campaigns are rewritten later.

Pricing

EZ Texting offers a Free 14-day trial that businesses can use before committing to a purchase. The Plus pricing tier is priced at $39.00 per month and includes additional free messages and custom keywords. The Select Tier and Elite tier similarly add more free texts and custom keywords at $75.00 per month and $119.00 per month respectively.

Pricing for SimpleTexting is dependent on how many messages your business expects to send in a month. Plans start as low as $25.00 per month for 500 texts and reaches as high as $625.00 per month for 50,000 text messages. The vendor provides quotes for businesses that need more texts beyond 50,000 per month.
